PIEP attended the Plastics Summit – Global Event 2025, held on October 6th at FIL in Lisbon. It hosted the event, where it had the opportunity to meet with national and international partners and present new sustainable materials, products, and solutions developed within the scope of the PRR’s Sustainable Plastics Mobilizing Agenda.
This internationally renowned event brought together companies, universities, authorities, and civil society representatives to discuss the future of plastics and accelerate the sustainable transformation of the sector, focusing on innovation, resource efficiency, and collaborative governance.
Under the motto “Towards a New Era of Responsible and Holistic Sustainability,” this international summit serves as a strategic meeting point for business leaders, policymakers, researchers, and civil society representatives. The event brought together more than 1,500 participants from around the world to discuss the future of the plastics sector within the context of sustainability and the circular economy.
In this context, PIEP presented a series of innovative projects that, through its research teams and industrial and academic partners, achieved the common goal of reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable industry practices, moving toward a circular economy.
“By focusing on sustainable polymers, we are not only pushing the boundaries of scientific research but also collaborating with industry-leading companies to create solutions that bring innovation and added value. Projects like these demonstrate our commitment to developing materials and technologies that meet the current and future needs of our society, while also promoting the circular economy and protecting the environment for future generations,” said Cláudia Cristóvão, PIEP’s general director.
