The Centre for Innovation in Polymer Engineering – PIEP – respects your Privacy.


Through the privacy policy, PIEP intends to make known to Customers / Users the general rules for the treatment of personal data, which are collected and processed in strict respect and compliance with the provisions of the personal data protection legislation in force at all times, namely Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council, of 27 April 2016 (“GDPR”)

By «Personal Data», PIEP refers to information related to an identified or identifiable natural person («Data Subject»); an identifiable individual is a person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier, such as a name, identification number, location data, identifiers electronically or to one or more specific elements the physical, the physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that individual.

In the case of the Newsletter, the data processed is the email.
In the case of a request for information and/or contact, the data processed is the name and email.

4. Applications

The personal data collected is intended for the management of activities related to recruitment and selection (Name, email, and CV).

Your CV will be stored in our database for a period of 6 months in the case of a spontaneous application, or 5 years, in the case of response to an advertisement.

Only applications made on the site, in a specific area for this purpose, or via email: will be accepted.

5. Holder rights

At any time, you can exercise your rights with the PIEP, namely:

a) Right of access: as the holder of personal data, you have the right to obtain information, in a clear and clarifying manner, regarding the way PIEP treats your data, as well as to access your data.

b) Right of rectification: you have the right to have your personal data rectified if they are out of date, incorrect or incomplete.

c) Right of erasure/to be forgotten: as the holder of personal data, you have the right to have your personal data deleted, with the proviso that this right is not absolute, with limitations on the right to erase, namely due to legal obligations.

d) Right of opposition: the data subject has the right to oppose, at any time, the processing of personal data concerning him, based on legitimate interests or the public interest, including the definition of profiles. As such, you can request the deletion of the subscription to the PIEP Newsletter or request the removal of our direct disclosure communications at any time.

e) Right to limitation of processing: you have the right to request the limitation of the processing of your data in the following situations: if you challenge the accuracy of personal data; if the treatment is illegal and you do not want to delete your data, but only limit it; if the data are no longer needed by the PIEP; if you have exercised the aforementioned right of opposition, during the period in which the PIEP examines whether your legitimate interests for treatment prevail over your right.

f) Right to data portability: you have the right to move, copy, or transfer data, as long as they are automated, from one database to another.

g) Right to withdraw your consent for data processing: you can withdraw your consent to data processing when this processing is based on your consent. This right does not compromise the legality of the treatment based on consent before the respective withdrawal, nor the subsequent treatment of the same data, based on another legal basis, as being the contractual fulfillment or legal obligation.

h) Right to file a complaint with the National Data Protection Commission (“CNPD”): if you consider that the processing of your personal data carried out by PIEP violates the applicable data protection legislation, you can file a complaint with CNPD. You can contact us in advance before submitting any complaint to the CNPD.

The data will only be kept for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. However, data may be kept for longer periods, particularly when the law so requires it.
