Conception and development of new products and innovative processes for the application in structural components of the automobile, through the use of CFRTs (Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic), combined with injection technologies. The new products will present differentiating and competitive characteristics, aiming to achieve a global weight and lower production costs and a weight/performance ratio higher than the currently existing approaches.
The project took place in two distinct phases with differentiated technological objectives. Initially, it conducted a study and evaluation of materials and technologies already on the market. Subsequently, detailed research was made taking into account the different areas identified: dry reinforcements, impregnated reinforcements, and modeling processes.
