Development, Test, and Demonstration of new design methodologies and qualification of aerostructures in a better design environment

RTD followed three main lines of fundamental innovation:

•  aerostructures development and qualification methodologies;
• application and demonstration of new materials and more competitive manufacturing technologies;
• new technologies and integration of equipment in test benches, with a special focus on the multifunctionality of structures and the integration of sensor systems for monitoring tests and inspection operations.

A reduction in manufacturing costs of over 15% and qualification time in 5 months has been achieved. The effectiveness of the development process resulted in the execution of two iterations.
