The European project ECOplast was dedicated to the research of new biocomposite materials based on renewable materials for application in the automotive industry.
The mainline of research focused on the adaptation of bioplastics available on the market and the creation of new protein-based polymers, modified with the help of natural fibers, mineral fillers, nanoparticles, and additives to improve their technical performance.
The consortium involved 13 partners from five European countries (Spain, Holland, Finland, Germany, and Portugal) being coordinated by the Galician Automobile Technology Center (CTAG).
