This project resulted in the first Portuguese UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), created by the consortium PAIC (Portuguese Aerospace Industry Consortium).
Imperio SP1 is an aircraft with a wingspan of 5 meters with a payload capacity of 20 kg for the unmanned monitoring of fires and maritime surveillance.
The Imperio SP1 platform was developed and manufactured by Active Space, Iberomoldes, INEGI, PIEP and Spin.Works, in collaboration with Lockheed-Martin, the US aerospace giant. It features a structure made of carbon and glass fibers and made of cork and a 17 cm 3W motor with 17 horsepower.
