On July 1st, the Entrepreneurial Discovery Space (EDE) session dedicated to the priority domain “Materials, Systems, and Technologies” took place at CEiiA in Matosinhos, within the scope of the National Strategy for Smart Specialization (ENEI2030). PIEP was present, represented by its Director of Operations and PMO, Carlos Ribeiro.
This initiative, part of a series of thematic sessions for ENEI2030, fostered a bottom-up dynamic essential to implementing the logic of selective R&D and I investments. The event began with a solid introduction to the fundamentals of smart specialization and the multilevel logic of ENEI2030, before giving way to a participatory discussion forum where Carlos Ribeiro, representing PIEP, actively contributed.
The engagement was marked by constructive exchanges with other entities and participants, culminating in contributions that will now be considered in formulating recommendations to the ENEI2030 Executive Committee. Despite taking place concurrently with the session dedicated to Health, Biotechnology, and Food, each group had its own dedicated space, facilitating focused and productive discussions.
The meeting was productive, reinforcing the relevance of ENEI2030 for national strategic investments in R&D&I.
