The SIC Notícias Imagens de Marca program visited PIEP – Centre for Innovation in Polymer Engineering – to showcase the HybridTec project, under its Innovation.pt heading.

This project was developed by PIEP in partnership with DT2 New Concept, Distrim2 and MPTOOL.

Carlos Ribeiro, manager of the HybridTec project, spoke to Imagens de Marca – a program that discloses brands and reference entities – about the technological innovation carried out in this project and the PIEP activity in general.

The Hybridtec project was designed to develop two different processes and an innovative product that allows the market to offer different solutions based on the production series required for the product.

The innovative solution is characterized by high integration (reduced number of components), reduced weight (41%) and reduced production costs (13%), compared to metallic solutions, thus opening up new development opportunities that extend beyond the automotive sector.

The Innovation.pt item is promoted by ANI – National Innovation Agency, within the scope of the SIAC project – Knowledge Transfer Initiative, co-financed by Compete 2020, through Portugal 2020 and the ERDF.
