Development of a domestic gas reservoir, using advanced materials and technologies that allowed for a reduction in weight (50%), improvement of mechanical behavior, ease of handling, as well as aesthetic improvement of the product.

This national product, innovative and with great success in the global market, allowed for a substantial weight reduction as well as a reduction in the environmental impact (100% recyclable).

PIEP participated in this project in 4 main areas: materials, design, structural behavior simulation and validation tests of the final product.

PIEP assumed technical responsibilities in terms of the selection of thermoplastic materials and prepregs in thermoplastic reinforced with continuous glass fibers to be used; development of the product design and the filament winding process to be used in its manufacture; simulation of structural behavior in terms of more favorable requirements and service conditions and validation of manufacture, prototypes and final product by experimental testing.
