Objectives

• The development of collaborative activities and technology transfer with the surrounding environment, including companies, other technological centres, universities, and society, promoting greater interaction and value creation in the business fabric and greater involvement and knowledge provision to society through specific actions focused on Digitalisation, Circular Economy, and Decarbonisation.
• The development of scientific and technological knowledge in critical areas such as Digitalisation and Digital Technologies, Decarbonisation and Circular Economy, as well as automation and intelligent transformation, and Advanced Materials based on more sustainable solutions.
• Capacity building and reinforcement of knowledge based on people, through the hiring of highly qualified resources and up-skilling/re-skilling of individuals belonging to the institution’s workforce, with a strong focus on specialisation in critical areas for the institution and the country (with a focus on priority domains of the smart specialisation strategy), as well as equipping the Technology Interface Center with advanced management tools (Quality, Projects, Clients, Partners, Business) that support and enable greater efficiency and effectiveness in the center’s core activities – Research, Development, and Innovation.
• Increasing PIEP’s visibility at national and international level in scientific, technical, and technological discussion forums, European associations, and networks with the aim of expanding strategic partnerships in different target industrial sectors and areas of differentiation connected to materials, technologies, circularity, and digitalisation.
