EasyFlush Syringe

The EasyFlush Syringe (SEF) project aims to develop an innovative syringe that integrates flushing, medication administration, and locking functions into a single device, simplifying venous catheter maintenance and reducing complications such as infections and thrombophlebitis.

PIEP is responsible for product development, leveraging its expertise in requirements analysis and definition, materials selection, advanced 3D modeling, plastic product design, and computational calculations to optimize mechanical behavior, fluid dynamics, and their respective fluid-structure interactions.

MOLIPOREX-MOLDES PORTUGUESES IMPORT. E EXPORT. SA leads the project, which includes the participation of the Coimbra School of Nursing, the Lisbon School of Nursing, and PIEP – Centre for Innovation in Polymer Engineering.
