The SereniOxy project aims to create CPAP/NIV full face masks customized to the patient’s anatomy for greater comfort, effectiveness, and durability. The part in contact with the face will be made with flexible material by additive manufacturing, while the other will be mass-produced by injection. An intuitive application will allow the patient’s facial scanning, ordering, and real-time production monitoring.
PIEP is responsible for product design and development, namely in materials selection and mechanical characterization, advanced 3D modeling, generation and selection of concepts based on structural numerical simulation, and computational fluid dynamics. In addition, it will carry out a life cycle assessment, quantifying the environmental impacts associated with the product throughout its life cycle.
The project is led by NM3D and has the participation of Ensoorigins, Lda, Plastar-Injecção e Pintura de Plásticos, Lda, Coimbra Nursing School, and Polymer Engineering Innovation Hub.
