Smart Surfaces for Automotive Components

The aim of this project is to development of new technological solutions for the automotive industry, through the use of In-Mold Decoration technique in the overmoulding process of bi-material components.

Simultaneously, it is intended to development of a new production for applications in high precision polymer optical lenses, with high control over the optical and mechanical properties of the molded parts using the numerical tools of computer simulation of injection moulding with the objective of not only foresee the existence of defects in the molded parts but also to understand the influence of process variables on their final quality.
