Conference: Innovation Ecosystems for Plastics in a Circular Economy | 12 December 2019 | 2:00 pm

PIEP and ECP4 – European, Composites, Plastics and Polymer Processing Platform, present the international event: “Innovation Ecosystems for Plastics in a Circular Economy” to be held on December 12, at 2 pm, in the Small Auditorium of Vila Flor Cultural Center, in Guimarães.

The European Commission presented a Strategy for Plastics in the Circular Economy that proposes the materialization of a more circular plastics economy, where the industrial actors of the sector’s value chain and the academy will have a fundamental role for its implementation.

Given the signing of the Circular Plastics Alliance Declaration held in September 2019, the actors in the plastics value chain are committed to increasing the circularity and efficiency of this material, which offers extraordinary benefits for society.

This international event co-organized by PIEP – Centre for Innovation in Polymer Engineering and ECP4 – European, Composites, Plastics and Polymer Processing Platform (*), aims to address themes such as the circularity of plastics through design, recycling and alternative raw materials, leveraging innovation ecosystems, and promoting the development of a Strategic European Research and Innovation Agenda for Plastics in the Circular Economy.
