The innovation FORUM – Innovation as a Driver of Sustainability and Competitiveness will take place at the Jordão Theatre in Guimarães on 30 June, and aims to foster debate on the role of innovation as a driver of sustainability and competitiveness in industry, contributing to a more resilient Europe that is better prepared for the challenges of the future.

In a European context marked by global challenges, such as strategic autonomy and collective security, it is essential to promote reindustrialisation based on the twin transitions – climate and digital – in which innovation will play a decisive role.

Innovation stands as one of the fundamental pillars of economic competitiveness, making a decisive contribution to any country’s growth model. It is also an essential factor in improving people’s quality of life and transforming society.

Aware of the importance of innovation for the country’s economic growth, the challenges of the global context, and the urgency of European reindustrialisation, PIEP aims, through the innovation FORUM, to create a genuine innovation hub capable of facilitating and promoting synergies between academia, industry, and the public sector, fostering a debate focused on our collective future.

Throughout the event, topics such as the future of automotive mobility, circular models as a driver of economic competitiveness, defence as a strategic opportunity, and ecosystems will be analysed and discussed.
