PIEP organizes the webinar “Circular Economy and Environment”

PIEP – Centre for Innovation in Polymer Engineering – held the webinar, dedicated to the theme of Circular Economy and Environment, on March 16, at 3:00 pm.

Bruno Pereira da Silva | PIEP, moderated the interventions of Bruno Machado | Logoplaste Innovation Lab, Pilar Moreno | Intraplás and João Letras | SPV – Sociedade Ponto Verde.

The last 150 years of industrial evolution have been dominated by a linear model of production and consumption, in which products are made from materials, sold, used, and then assumed to be waste. This model of extracting, transforming, and discarding has become unsustainable, so it will be necessary to adopt an alternative that is focused on a more circular economic model, based on the reuse of products and consumption designed for regeneration. Circularity through recycling, ecodesign, and alternative raw materials, combined with innovation, will play an extremely important role in the development of new economically viable and ecologically efficient products and services.

The aim of this webinar was to address the theme of Circular Economy and Environment, with the presentation of practical cases and innovation strategies already adopted by companies in the value chain of the plastics sector in Portugal.

This session took place on the Zoom platform, and was free of charge, requiring only registration through the link:
