On May 13, PIEP received a visit from a delegation from the Northern Regional Coordination and Development Commission, led by the President of CCDR-NORTE, António M. Cunha – one of the founders of PIEP.

With this visit it was possible to make known the strengths of PIEP – Pole of Innovation in Polymer Engineering, in particular the new developments of PIEP in terms of printed and sustainable electronics (Sustronics), as well as the new area of DAPA (Digitalisation, Automation and Advanced Programming). This technical area of PIEP allows you to optimize processes, solve complex company problems, and increase human capabilities, shaping the future through intelligent systems and data analysis, supporting partners and customers in overcoming digitalization challenges and achieving a more productive and smart society.

The PIEP Testing and Testing laboratories were also visited, in transition to accreditation according to the ISO 17025 standard, as well as training in terms of Recyclass certification, according to the EN 15343 standard (certification of plastic recycling processes as well as certification of products that incorporate recycled plastic) and EPD – Environmental Product Declaration (consultancy services through the performance of EPD, with approved independent verifiers, which ensures third-party verification) supporting the necessary climate transition.
