PIEP received 260 high school students in two open days of the DEP – Department of Polymer Engineering (on April 5 and 22) at the University of Minho, having the opportunity to show the youngest a little of the day-to-day research, development, and industrial innovation work carried out at PIEP.

DEP’s 2022 open day made it possible to publicize the Polymer Engineering course at the University of Minho, as well as its surroundings. PIEP, as a Technological Interface Centre at the University of Minho, is a reference in Portugal in innovation in polymer engineering and a strategic partner for research, development, and innovation in the national and international industrial fabric of the plastics sector.

With these visits to the University of Minho and PIEP, students, mostly from the 12th grade, from school groups in V. N. Famalicão, Vizela, Felgueiras, and Penafiel, became more aware of Polymer Engineering in general, the study plan, and the course’s valences, as well as its possible professional opportunities and strong connection to the industry.
