Workshop PIEP Polarise – Technologies for Streamlining Design and Product Development

On November 22nd, PIEP will hold the Workshop “Technologies for Streamlining Design and Product Development” dedicated to the acceleration of product design and development process through the use of new 3D Scanning, Digitizing Tables, and Additive Manufacturing technologies.

With this workshop, participants will learn practical examples of the product design and development process and will learn how these new technologies can be used in the design and development of differentiating products.

The event will feature speakers from companies such as Almadesign, Polisport, and CODI, and is aimed at designers, companies, and the general public with an interest in the area of design and product development.

This workshop is held within the scope of the POLARISE project, in which PIEP will increase interaction, valorization, and transfer of knowledge to the business community and other economic and social actors, contributing to innovation, entrepreneurship, and the development of skills in organizations and people.

  • 10:00 am – 10:15 am: Reception of participants
  • 10:15 am – 10:30 am: Introduction
  • 10:30 am – 10:50 am: Conventional DDP method – Filipe Magalhães, Polisport
  • 10:50 am – 11:10 am: 3D Scan Technology – Pedro Gomes, PIEP
  • 11:10 am – 11:30 am: Break
  • 11:30 am – 11:50 am: Design in DP and Digital Tablet Technology – João Teixeira, Almadesign, André Gomes, PIEP
  • 11:50 am – 12:10 pm: Additive Manufacturing Technology (FDM and Polyjet) – Moisés Domingues, CODI
  • 12:15 pm – 2:00 pm: Lunch
  • 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm: Exercise: Sharing Experiences & Case Study – Joel Antunes, PIEP
  • 3:30 pm – 3:40 pm: Closing
