On February 22nd, the PIEP laboratories in Guimarães will be open for the Workshop “Monitoring composite parts in the context of MAIT – Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Test“.
The digitalization of processes and products is particularly relevant today. The concept of Industry 4.0 requires companies to adapt technologically. The sensing of structures and processes is an essential factor in the digitalization process. The process or the component/structure acquires the characteristics necessary to monitor its performance and consequently enhance the data obtained in service and the constructed solution itself through the application of different sensing techniques.
Composite materials are widely used in components or structures with high thermomechanical performance, and their application in critical components or structures is common. It is therefore important to monitor, in great detail, the service life of these structures when in service, as well as the control and optimization of processing conditions.
The organization of this event is intended to publicize the potential of product and process digitalization techniques in the area of the application of composite materials.
The event will feature the participation of speakers from institutions such as EMS LUNA, ESI Group, University of Minho, Amtol-Alfa, University of Aveiro, PIEP and is aimed at companies active in the area of transformation of composite materials (shipbuilding, aeronautics, aerospace, civil construction, energy, etc.); raw material suppliers, SCTN entities and members of the Academy.
This workshop is held within the scope of the POLARISE project. PIEP will increase interaction, valorization, and transfer of knowledge to the business community and other economic and social actors, contributing to innovation, entrepreneurship, and the development of skills in organizations and people.
Registration for the workshop is free and is now open online.
